A Modern and Tropical Destination Wedding in Naples, Florida

I can’t think of a better way to spend this Thursday morning than indulging in Dianna & Eric’s gorgeous destination wedding in Naples, Florida.  These two met five years ago in a Chicago hospital where Dianna worked as a nurse and Eric was the chief of Urology. But it was nearly eight months after meeting, that they would go on their first date. A few years later, they rounded up 36 guests for a modern and tropical destination wedding that was full to the brim with beautiful details. When asked about her inspiration, the bride said:”Our color was coral. We used the natural colors of the sand to accent it- tan, gold, and a little coffee brown. The flowers were all tropical with lots of coordinating and contrasting colors to provide big, bold, pop. We incorporated as many tropical colors as we could.”

Real Destination Wedding Advice from the Bride

Why did you choose Florida for your wedding?

We wanted a beach wedding at sunset. Eric’s Uncle took us to dinner at LaPlaya when we were visiting Naples in October of 2013. We fell in love with the warm beautiful sunsets and white sandy beaches that Naples has to offer.  Naples was a destination that made it easy for our family and close friends to attend.

Which elements of your day best reflect you as a couple?

Since it was a destination wedding, instead of a rehearsal dinner, we had a poolside BBQ for all of the guests the night before. We had a steel drum player to provide the music.

What’s Your Advice to other Couples?

Our only disaster was a bad storm that moved into Naples the afternoon of the wedding. We had to flip our cocktail hour with the ceremony. The cocktail hour was moved off the beach to a dry, outside location. The weather cleared and we were still able to have our ceremony on the beach. The disaster turned into the best double rainbow imaginable during our ceremony. Our sunset beach wedding pictures are just fantastic!
