I’m a sucker for tropical destination wedding details – but what I love even more is a beautiful love story. Today’s featured wedding in Tulum has it all. Talina & Imad met while they were both traveling for a work conference in Michigan. Although sparks flew, it wasn’t until Imad just happened to move to San Diego – 3 doors down from Talina – that they knew it was meant to be!
Since both families live in different countries, they decided to have a beach destination wedding in Tulum, with 40 of their closest friends & family. Their decor was bright, bold, and tropical, with orange as the main color. I absolutely love how the tropical flowers popped against the gorgeous Turquoise ocean. Thank you so much to Maura Jane Photography for sharing this beautiful day with us.
Real Destination Wedding Advice from the Bride
Why did you choose to have your destination wedding in Tulum?
The beach is beautiful and the surrounding areas have plenty of fun activities- such as visiting ruins, scuba diving, relaxing on the beach, eating good food, adventure parks with zip-lining, dolphin encounters, cave tours…so much fun stuff!
What was your favorite part of having a destination wedding?
We liked the idea of having a destination wedding where our families and friends could interact for several days to really get to know each other and have it be a memorable vacation for everyone.
If you could give one (or two) pieces of advice to brides planning a destination wedding, what would it be?
My husband did most of the wedding coordination! 🙂 We were both easy going about the whole process and not too worried about how it all would turn out (perfectly in the end). We did plan a trip to the location a few months prior to check things out in person before convincing 40 of our friends and family to travel there. Don’t worry about all the details. They will all work out. Just focus on the important things- for us that was having our family and friends all in one spot. Lisi Petrelli was the wedding planner- thanks to her we had an amazing wedding and reception!
