I noticed that all of the real destination weddings I’ve featured the last couple of weeks have been bold, colorful, and tropical. And I loved every one of them, but today I wanted to go in a different direction and inspire you with a destination wedding in Marco Island, Florida that was romantic, understated, and absolutely stunning!
Ann and Ryan tied the knot in a sunset ceremony at the Marco Beach Ocean Resort, surrounded by 85 of their closest family and friends. The décor included soft pink and charcoal grey details with tons of romantic candlelight. I especially love the pretty juliet rose used in the bouquet, centerpieces, and cake! And check out the scalloped dresses worn by the junior bridesmaid – it is just one of the cutest things ever.
Hugs to Tonya Malay Photography for capturing all these amazing details and sharing them with us. I am in truly in awe of her talent!
Real Destination Wedding Advice from the Bride
What was your favorite part of having a destination wedding in Marco Island?
The best part was that it was so easy to plan! It was also a vacation where we got to spend a week on the beach with our family and friends. And you can’t beat the beauty and romance that comes with Florida’s beaches.
What was the biggest challenge in planning your destination wedding?
Getting the stuff together ahead of time to be sent down. I wouldn’t say it was a challenge as much as you need to plan a head a bit.
What’s your destination wedding advice for other couples?
Take the recommendations of the event staff at the venue. Not only their preferred list, but also what each one has to offer and what they recommend. And enjoy it! Most people won’t notice if something is missing or went wrong. A destination wedding also allows you to enjoy your spouse on that day and night rather than running around to all the guest, since you have already spent so much time with them.
