When this gorgeous Costa Rica wedding landed in my inbox, I was rendered temporarily speechless. Not an easy feat, if I must say so myself. When I finally caught my breath, all I could say was WOW!
I loved absolutely everything about this stunning wedding by the amazing Wendy Alana Photography. Nothing makes me giddier than wedding photos which capture the raw emotion, joy, and details so perfectly that you feel like you were actually there. And Wendy is one talented photographer whose lens captured all that, and then some. Steve & Lea got married in Costa Rica’s Riu Palace with 85 of their closest family & friends in tow. The venue was breathtaking. The florals soft & feminine. The bride stunning. And the flower girls were just too cute for words!
I LOVE this next shot of the bride & groom before the wedding. It’s almost a “first look” photo, except they didn’t see each other. So creative and fun!
Real Destination Wedding Advice
What made you want a destination wedding in Costa Rica?
It was #1 on our travel list as a place we both wanted to travel to. It was a little different than the typical Mexico or DR wedding.
What were your sources of inspiration when choosing your colors & flowers?
I love Peonies and wanted a soft neutral palette that complemented them.
What was the best part of having a Destination Wedding?
Spending a week with family, friends, and loved ones. Not feeling rushed, but having a week to fully soak in everything and spend quality time with everyone.
What advice do you have for others planning a destination wedding in Costa Rica?
Relax and work within their timeline as they know what they’re doing. Don’t be afraid to ask for those important details you need to be happy.

I truly enjoyed working with Lea to design her bouquet and accessories, and I’m so proud of how realistic they look in her wedding pictures. I was a destination wedding bride too and seeing their beautiful pics brought back so many memories for me. Congrats again Lea and Steve 🙂
