An Elegant Tropical Wedding in Negril’s 7 Mile Beach

You are here: Home / Real Destination Weddings / An Elegant Tropical Wedding in Negril’s 7 Mile Beach
by Cynthia

When the venue is called Couples Swept Away, you better believe the vibe is nothing short of relaxed and romantic. Gia and Hunter hosted their friends and family for an unforgettable celebration of their love on Negri’s famous 7 Mile Beach. And no detail was spared!

Gia and Hunter’s taste is classic and elegant and can be seen in everything from the apparel to the decor. Gia’s girls wore pale blue gowns by Azazie, while the men wore crisp black suits to complement. Despite a bit of rain sneaking in right before the ceremony, everyone agreed it was a blessing in disguise that cooled the night down for an extra dose of relaxation!

Gia and Hunter exchanged vows under a gorgeous pergola adorned with classic palm fronds and crisp white drapery.  And they treated their guests to a fun-filled night of dancing under a wonderfully lit beach reception where the string lights were so abundant they seemed to fade into the night sky. Magdalena Studios was able to capture everything from the sweet and intimate moments to the rowdy fun that was had by all.

Q&A with the Bride

How many people attended your destination wedding?

98

What were your sources of inspiration when choosing your colors, flowers, cake, etc..?

We were inspired to create a tropical beach theme with an elegant and classic vibe.

Was there something special that you incorporated into your wedding?

We provided guests with welcome bags!

What was your favorite wedding detail and why?

The outdoor venues!  Beach for the ceremony, gardens for cocktail hour, and another area of the beach for our reception

What was the most memorable to happen on your wedding day?

It torrential down poured about 45 minutes before the ceremony was supposed to begin! Thankfully it stopped in time that we were able to have all events outside! It was a blessing in disguise though because it cooled down and the beach was cleared of other guests!

What was your favorite part of having a destination wedding?

Celebrating for multiple days in a beautiful fun place with our closest friends and family members.

What was the biggest challenge in planning your destination wedding?

Communicating with the resort about my ideas and preferences.

What’s your advice to other couples planning a destination wedding?

Don’t sweat the small stuff, enjoy every minute
